Eric B. Brown

Biography

Now into his third decade of practice, Mr. Brown focuses on representing individuals and families impacted by catastrophic injuries, death, and civil rights claims. He practices in federal, state and workers’ compensation courts. Mr. Brown’s big-picture approach and broad range of experience in multiple areas of law is essential where injuries impact the ability to work as well as navigating the often scary complexities of short and long-term disability, health insurance, ERISA subrogation, coordination of underinsurance, umbrella policies, public assistance and other available benefits, all paramount to maximizing the recovery to a client or a family. While confidentiality rules prohibit discussion of particular clients, the combined value of actual dollars paid out from his court victories and settlements on behalf of clients is estimated to have exceeded 40 million dollars, with a multitude of settlements and recoveries exceeding a million dollars, including over $7.5 million within the last two years alone. In 1999, Mr. Brown recorded a Federal Court verdict which included the highest amount of punitive damages ever awarded by a Nebraska jury in an employment discrimination case. Mr. Brown also actively teaches upper class law students as a spring semester adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska College of Law and has chaired and lectured at numerous educational seminars in his areas of practice. He is also a trained and certified mediator, has testified on behalf of his clients to the legislature and has made new law at the Supreme Court on multiple occasions. Mr. Brown enjoys spending time with his sons, Eli and Will, and is continually amazed by his daughter Ellen, who was born with profound developmental challenges that hinder neither her smile nor her impact on everyone around her. Mr. Brown is a native of Grand Island, Nebraska and a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the University of Nebraska College of Law, where his high academic achievements qualified him as a member of the Moot Court Board and several honor societies.

I hurt my back a while at work, the Doctor said I just a strained a muscle. The following day I could hardly get out of bed. I am sole heir to an estate located in Nebraska, where I was born & raised, now residing out of state for 25+ years.
